Question & Answer with Dr. Johnson
I was drawn to gastroenterology because digestive health plays such an important role in a person’s overall well-being and quality of life. I chose the concierge model because it allows me to care for patients in a more personalized, thoughtful way—with more time to listen, educate, and focus on prevention and long-term wellness. It gives me the opportunity to build stronger relationships with patients and provide accessibility and individualized attention that I believe excellent medical care should include.
What brings me the greatest satisfaction is the opportunity to truly connect with patients and make a meaningful difference in their quality of life. Many gastrointestinal issues can be chronic, frustrating, or difficult to talk about and I value being able to provide reassurance, answers, and personalized care. Seeing patients feel better, regain confidence in their health and knowing they have a physician who is accessible and invested in their well-being is incredibly rewarding.
I am a board-certified gastroenterologist with decades of private practice experience, with training in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven hospital and fellowship training in Gastroenterology at the University of Chicago. Throughout my career, I have believed in taking the time to truly get to know my patients, answer their questions thoroughly, and provide thoughtful, individualized care.
Concierge gastroenterology allows me to offer a more personalized and accessible approach to care, without rushed appointments. I want my patients to feel comfortable discussing even the most sensitive concerns and to be confident that no question is ever too small. My goal is to partner with each patient in achieving optimal gastrointestinal health.
Optimal gastrointestinal health is fundamental to overall health and well-being. The GI tract plays a critical role not only in digestion and nutrient absorption, but also in immune function, metabolism and overall systemic health. Maintaining a healthy digestive system through preventive care, appropriate screening, and early management of symptoms is an important part of comprehensive patient care and can significantly impact long-term health outcomes and quality of life.
